Winning Trio 2005
Formed in Vienna in 1999, Trio con Brio Copenhagen (www.TrioconBrio.dk) comprises Danish pianist Jens Elvekjaer and Korean sisters Soo-Jin Hong, violin, and Soo-Kyung Hong, cello. The Trio has appeared in major concert halls and at festivals throughout Europe and Asia. In 2006-2007 the Trio con Brio made an extensive tour of the United States and appeared throughout Germany, Holland, England, Sweden and Norway. In April, 2007, the ensemble performed Beethoven's Triple Concerto with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra in Radio Concert Hall Copenhagen, Denmark. It has been featured in live broadcasts for Danish Radio, Korean Broadcasting Systems, ARD, RAI and the BBC, among others. The Trio's Award CD, released in February, 2007 on the Azica label, includes Ravel's Piano Trio in A minor, Dvorak's Piano Trio No. 4 in E minor (Dumky) and Bloch's Three Nocturnes. Highlights of the Trio's 2007-2008 season included debuts at Carnegie Hall and London's Wigmore Hall, and serving as Artists in Residence at Mogens Dahl Concert Hall (Denmark) and the Usedom Music Festival (Germany). The ensemble returns to North America three times in 2008-2009 and has been invited to tour China in 2009-2010.
