Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award
Winning Trio 2003
In December 2003, the Claremont Trio was named the winner of the inaugural Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award (KLRITA). Formed at the Taos School of Music in 1999, the Trio consists of pianist Donna Kwong, violinist Emily Bruskin and cellist Julia Bruskin. The Trio won the 2001 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, and consequently made their New York debut at the 92nd Street Y. The Trio also debuted in Boston at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and in Washington, DC at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The Claremont Trio completed its two-year Award tour of the 20 KLRITA presenters in May 2006. The Trio’s recording of the Mendelssohn piano trios was released in August 2004.
