Formed in Germany in 2003 and based in Berlin, the ATOS Trio (www.atos-trio.de) comprises Thomas Hoppe, piano, Annette von Hehn, violin, and Stefan Heinemeyer, cello. The Trio has garnered top prizes at several international competitions including First Prize, Grand Prize, the Musica Viva Tour Prize and the Audience Prize at the 5th Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition, First Prize at the International Competition Schubert and the Music of Modern Times 2007 in Graz, Austria and Grand Prize Winner at the Deutsche Musik Wettbewerb in 2004. 

Recent and upcoming performances include appearances at London´s Wigmore Hall, Amsterdam´s Concertgebouw, Frankfurt´s Alte Oper and a tour of Australia and New Zealand under the auspices of Musica Viva Australia.  The ATOS Trio was selected to become a member of the prestigious BBC Radio 3 “New Generations Artists” program which will entail making several recordings for the BBC in the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 seasons as well as concert appearances throughout Great Britain.

Among the ATOS Trio’s recordings are a CD of music of Czech composer Josef Suk released in January 2010; its KLRITA Award CD for Azica Records released in 2009 which includes works by Beethoven, Schubert and Schumann; a CD on the Ars Musici label of music by Beethoven, Brahms and Kirchner; the complete trios of Heinrich von Herzogenberg which sold out its first pressing within a month of its release.

The Trio commenced its Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award tour in 2008-2009 and completed it in 2009-2010.
