Dear Friends,
As the finest classical musicians in the world slip through the stage door at the end of their performances for the Chamber Music Society of Detroit in the Seligman Performing Arts Center, they often remark at how extraordinarily attentive and appreciative the Chamber Music Society listeners are. It's a magical experience for performer and audience alike.
For 68 seasons – 67 of them under the leadership of just three presidents – the Chamber Music Society of Detroit has been bringing to southeast Michigan the very finest musical performances the world has to offer. But the real magic is our audience, because when the best musicians make their best music for such engaged listeners, then the audience itself becomes a “music maker” with them. Some in our audience have been subscribing for 30, 40, even 50 years, but it only takes one visit to experience that magic.
Anywhere, anytime, the touch of a button or the click of a mouse can unleash the passing scenery of literally thousands of hours of recorded music: in your home, in your car, or even on your cell phone. But twelve times a year, a ticket to the Chamber Music Society of Detroit can unleash the kind of memorable musical experiences that echo for a lifetime. And that can only happen live.
So Welcome! - Whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth subscription season, you are in for one of the finest live music listening experiences to be found anywhere in the world. It’s made possible by you – the audience of the Chamber Music Society of Detroit.
Thank you!

Steve Wogaman
President
On May 1, 2011, Steve Wogaman became President of the Chamber Music Society of Detroit, only the fourth person to hold that position in the organization’s 68-year history. He brings to the position a background as an accomplished pianist and chamber musician, symphony orchestra executive, founder of an innovative state-wide music education program in rural Kentucky, and a great passion for chamber music.
