Family Concert at Novi High School

A Program of PNC Listen @ The Library

Alongside the new Listen @ The Library series, the Chamber Music Society of Detroit and PNC Bank will begin presenting family concerts in the Novi High School Auditorium (located on the same campus as the Novi Public Library), which is convenient to Northville, Plymouth, Livonia, Farmington, Farmington Hills and other communities along the I-275 corridor.  The concert will feature world-renowned artists performing a one-hour concert in a family-friendly format, with accessible, engaging repertoire designed to introduce a multigenerational audience to chamber music.

A Floating World: Japan and the Impressionists 
One of the nation’s foremost woodwind quintets will perform the atmospheric music of Debussy, Takemitsu and others, accompanied by slides of French and Japanese visual art, with spoken introductions to each piece by members of the quintet.

Pre-Concert Event, 1:30 - 2:45 p.m.

Instrument Petting Zoo
Just prior to the family concert, audience members are invited to an Instrument Petting Zoo at the Novi Public Library, located on the same campus as Novi High School. Visitors will have the opportunity to touch, learn about and try out musical instruments. 

 



$10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, $25 for families (up to 5).

Admission to the Instrument Petting Zoo is free of charge.
